About Siliguri
Siliguri is situated at the base of the Himalaya Mountains in the plains of Darjeeling District by the side of River Mahananda. It is the 2nd largest city in West Bengal and known as the gateway of North-Eastern India. The strategic location of the place makes sure that travelers to the North-East have to pass through Siliguri. It is also the commercial capital of the region. The Sub-Division is bounded on the North by the Sub-Himalayan ranges and on the South by Bangladesh; U-Dinajpur & Bihar on the East lies Jalpaiguri District & Kalimpong Sub-Division and bounded on the West by Nepal. The Geographical area of the Sub-Division spreads over 837.45 Sq. Km and the rural population is around 5,33,979*. The whole region is popularly famous for Four (4) T's - Tea, Timber, Transport & Tourism. There are forty-five (45) Tea Gardens to spread over the Blocks of Sub-Division. The two important adjacent areas - Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary & Baikunthapur Forest contribute a lot in the micro-climate of the town.

ISKCON Temple
International Society for Krishna Consciousness, more popularly known as ISKCON Temple, is one of the prominent places of interest in Siliguri. Sited at Gital Para, ISKCON Temple Road, the temple is characterized by purity, serenity and sublime beauty. Also known as Hare Krishna Movement, ISKCON temple in the city is the biggest Krishna centre in the whole of the Northeast India. Completely dedicated to Lord Krishna, the temple attracts thousands of devotees from all over the country.

Sed-Gyued Monastery
Sed-Gyued Monastery is also known as Salugara Monastery is located in the Salugara and is the prime seat of the Sed-Gyued lineage or the whispered image. Whispered lineage is a form of a private teaching. This is imparted by the guru or a meditational deity only to someone who he believes is the closest disciple. The purpose of this monastery is to promote and preserve the distinct tantric study, experiences, culture and the practice of the Sed-Gyued masters to this lineage as well as the subsequent lineage holders. At present the monastery has 96 monks as well as the 18 staff members. Established by Tibetan Buddhist Monks and followers of Dalai Lama, the monastery is famous for the 100 feet stupa founded by the Tibetan Lama, Kalu Rinpoche.

The Coronation Bridge
The Coronation Bridge, also known as the Sevoke Bridge, in Darjeeling district of West Bengal, India, spans across the Teesta River, connecting the districts of Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri. National Highway 31 runs across it.
It was named to commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937 and was completed in 1941.Locals call the bridge Baghpool, meaning tiger bridge, because of the two lion statues at one entrance of the bridge. The entire bridge was supported by a fixed arch, which had its two ends fixed on rock layers on either side of the river.

Sandakphu and Singalila Trekking
Sandakphu is a wonderland for the trekkers. It's located at an altitude of 11,929ft (i.e. 3,636 meters) in Darjeeling district and North West of Darjeeling hill town. This is the summit or the highest point in Singalila range as well as in the state of West Bengal, India. Teesta River Rafting
If you are visiting Darjeeling or Sikkim, one of the popular adventure activities that you can undertake along with your family members is white water river rafting. River Teesta and Rangeet gush down the Himalayan mountains and create foaming white water and stretches with varying rapids that are excellent for rafting for both beginners and seasoned rafters. Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary
Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary is a reserved forest area that initially started as a game sanctuary where children took rides. The sanctuary is spread over varying elevations and across 158 Sq Km of forest area. On the east the sanctuary is bounded by the river Teesta and on the west by the Mahanadi river and Hill cart road.
Regular day safaris are offered in the sanctuary from the Sukna gate both in the morning and in the afternoon.
